A major international upstream oil and gas company with three major North Sea assets partnered with RelyOn Nutec to put in place a fully managed Training Management Service for its 350-strong workforce.

To create a hands-on service, our training coordinators and compliance manager are based in the client’s UK HQ, seamlessly integrating with the client’s own training personnel. Together, the team ensures all employees have the necessary skills, knowledge and certification to stay safe by overseeing:

  • Matrix management and compliance reporting which tracks training and certification in real-time, providing current and predicted compliance percentages and early warning of potential non-compliance before deadlines.
  • Training course booking, whether onboard, onsite, at RelyOn centres or with third party vendors managed through our Business Portal solution.
  • Certificate management including expiry date tracking to inform future training needs.

The Training Management System is billed as one invoice, consolidating the cost of training, administration and certification into one. This has subsequently reduced the client’s costs and administrative burden of keeping its workforce competent and compliant.

Learning on demand

Employees also benefit from access to our digital learning platform which offers 200+ carefully curated e-learning courses, many of which are available in multiple languages and cover a variety of subjects, from fire safety to business essentials, and much more.

The RelyOn adaptive learning platform uses artificial intelligence to automatically adapt and optimise content to the learner in the same way a one-to-one personal tutor would. As a result, we have cut time to mastery by as much as 50% for some courses while improving engagement and retention and addressing ‘unconscious incompetence’.

To offer a bespoke training experience we integrated the company’s existing induction process and learning materials onto the platform. For example, the company’s Self Isolation and Reinstatement of Plant training is offered as blended course with some elements delivered via our adaptive learning platform and others delivered in-person.

Finally, our solution allows for course self-enrollment which has given employees ownership over their own compliance as well as offering opportunities to follow interests and upskill at their own pace. Not only has the company benefited from a more competent, compliant and skilled workforce, the administrative burden has also reduced.
