What is NOGEPA?
The government of the Netherlands has licensed about 13 companies to explore for gas in the North Sea. The companies operate individually but under the same set of standards put in place by the NOGEPA organisation. The acronym stands for the Netherlands Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Association.
What are the NOGEPA standards?
Standards are defining the way a company must handle operations within a specific field of operation. NOGEPA standards define how to handle everything related to gas explorations in the particular area of the North Sea, governed by the Netherlands.
In the NOGEPA Industry Standard Nr. 001 the purpose of the standard is stated to provide guidance on safety and emergency response training courses.
