Objective

The objective of this course is to introduce the fundamental safety elements of the offshore oil and gas industry to new starts, remotely via online classroom.

Target Group

This course is for new starts in the offshore oil and gas industry.

Prerequisites

There are no pre-requisites required for this course, however, the training builds upon topics introduced in the BOSIET so it is expected that delegates will undertake the MIST after completing the BOSIET training.

Delegates will receive a user guide which details minimum software/hardware requirements required to join the session. It also has a link to a Tech Test that should be conducted by delegates prior to starting the online session

Examination

The course is largely theoretical with the inclusion of some practical exercises. Ongoing assessment is used to demonstrate delegates understanding of the course contents.

Upon completion of the course, delegates will be awarded with an OPITO-approved MIST certificate.

Certification is valid for 4 years. Experienced offshore personnel can then renew their MIST
via computer-based training.
