Confined Space Training for the offshore wind industry
Objective
The course provides the participants with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to safely enter confined spaces and carry out the necessary life-saving actions in the event of an emergency. Special attention is paid to the procedures to be followed and pre-entry checks.
Target Group
Technicians and operational staff who need to enter confined spaces on substations, basements of monopiles or other restricted areas on an offshore WTG

Examination
To successfully complete this module, delegates must be able to demonstrate active participation in the evaluation.
Course Contents
Theoretical part:
- Course introduction
- Definition of confined / enclosed space
- Legislation
- Health and safety risks including specific risks in offshore
environment or specific risks related to a WTG
- Pre-entry checks and procedures including gas-testing,
monitoring and ventilation
- Work and entry permits
- Confined space entry
- Confined space guard / supervision
- Confined space escape and rescue including including
Emergency Escape Breathing Device (EEBD)
- First- and second-line intervention
Practical part:
- Pre-entry check and procedures
- Confined space entry methods including access via tripod
- Rescue and evacuation exercises including self-rescue
with EEBD
