Objective

a) Understand helicopter refuelling regulations, guidelines and documentation and relevant roles and responsibilities.
b) Understand the properties of, and understand and perform operational requirements for transport, handling, sampling, and storage of aviation turbine fuel.
c) Understand helicopter fuelling system design and maintenance.
d) Perform operational requirements for helicopter fuelling system setup and operation
e) Understand and perform pre and post helicopter refuelling operations
f) Understand and perform helicopter refuelling operations

Target Group

The target group for the Helicopter Refuelling Training programme is personnel who are to be involved in helicopter refuelling activities offshore.

Prerequisites

One of the following:
a) An OPITO Helideck Operations Initial Training (HOIT) Certificate (achieved within the past two years)
b) A valid OPITO HDA or HLO Workplace Competence Assessment Certificate
c) A valid OPITO Helideck Emergency Response Team Member Training (HERTM) or Further HERTM Certificate
d) A valid OPITO Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader (HERTL) or Further HERTL Training Certificate OR
e) A valid OPITO HLO for NUI Operations Training Certificate

Examination

Written Exam and Practical Assessment both completed at training centre. The delegate will be awarded an OPITO approved certificate valid for 2 years on successful completion of the training course.

After successful completion it is expected that the learner will move onto formal workplace competence assessments by their organisation.

If the learner has not successfully completed a workplace competence assessment within a two year period they will be required to complete the Helicopter Refuelling Training again
