Objective
"City and Guild’s Level 2 Award in Working in Low Risk Confined Spaces Course equips delegates with the skills and knowledge to work safely in low risk confined spaces. Learners will gain an understanding of the procedures and equipment required to perform their daily tasks safely. The confined space course (6160-01) will instil an awareness of the relevant industry standards for workers operating in low risk confined spaces. This is suitable for both water and land applications. This course was formerly City & Guilds Certification ‘6150-51’."
Target Group
The Confined Space Low Risk Course is ideal for individuals who work in low risk confined spaces. A low risk confined space can be defined as a space where there are issues with access, this can include obstructions and challenges entering and exiting the space safely.
Examination
Level 2 Award in Working in Low Risk Confined Spaces Course is assessed in a practical environment, using a confined space unit delegates will be evaluated on their ability to work safely in low risk confined spaces, and respond appropriately to emergencies and challenges.
Course Contents
"City & Guild’s Confined Space Low Risk Course is assessed in a practical environment, using a confined space unit delegates will be evaluated on their ability to work safely in low risk confined spaces. This training course covers what you need to know to work safely in low risk confined spaces including how to enter and work safely, how to recognise an emergency has occurred and then how to deal with it. It also includes updated National Occupational Standards and Water UK National Classifications (NC’s). A low risk confined space is one where there is adequate natural or mechanical ventilation, where access appears simple and unobstructed, and where there is no likely risk of flooding. Examples of low risk confined spaces include valve chambers and stairwells. • Candidates will learn how to: • Prepare to enter and work safely in low risk confined spaces. • Enter and exit confined spaces safely. • Use equipment and tools safely and in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions. • Follow procedures and work safely. • Deal with emergencies. • Use appropriate behaviour for working in low risk confined spaces."
