Objective

The aim of the HUET with EBS programme is to prepare delegates that intend to travel to and from offshore oil and gas installations and vessels by helicopter by providing specific training in preflight and in-flight requirements and to equip delegates with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills required in the event of a helicopter emergency with specific focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching

Target Group

This training programme is designed to meet the offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel new (or returning) to the offshore oil and gas industry who will be supplied with a rebreather emergency breathing system (EBS) during offshore helicopter travel.

Prerequisites

No prior training is required to attend this training programme.

ITEMS TO BRING: All delegates must bring Photographic I.D. and PASSPORT only (original or copy)

HEALTH: All delegates will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire prior to course commencement

Examination

OPITO approved certification for Helicopter Underwater Escape Training - will be issued on successful completion of the training programme.

The validity of the OPITO certificates is four years.

Helicopter safety & escape:
- Pre boarding
- Safe boarding
- In flight safety
- Safe disembarkation
- In flight emergency actions
- Use of emergency breathing system equipment
- Practical emergency escape breathing system training
- Practical emergency ditching and escape training
