Control Room Operator Training

Objective

To improve the response and critical thinking of Control Room Operators working in the offshore and onshore environments during emergency situations.

Target Group

The Control Room Operator (CRO) Training programme is designed for personnel who are about to be appointed to a CRO position or who are already serving as a CRO. It is intended to be a preparatory training for persons who are required to be formally assessed as a CRO.

Prerequisites

A valid BOSIET/FOET or TBOSIET/TFOET certificate or a suitable alternative programme. Preferably with some experience in the CRO field.

Examination

Throughout the training participants will be continuously appraised with the intention of ascertaining their readiness to be formally assessed as a Control Room Operator.

Upon completion participants will be advised if they are ready for assessment. Participants who are not ready for assessment will be provided with the relevant guidance to improve their skills and knowledge as a Control Room Operator.

• Detection System Malfunctions

• Auxiliary System Management
• Compartment & Containment Management
• Information Management
• Communications
• Well & Riser Control
• Pumps & Piping Failures
• Root Cause Analysis & Flow Logic
• Incident Escalation Management
The above training is a mix of classroom theory sessions and practical exercises.
Each operator will be trained during challenging, dynamic and realistic scenarios generated in our interactive training simulator.
