Objective

The aim of this course is to ensure delegates have the knowledge and skills to be able to safely conduct work at height using ropes.

Target Group

The IRATA Rope Access Level 1 is intended for those with no prior experience who wish to be able to undertake work at height using ropes.

Examination

An assessment is conducted by an external examiner on the final day. Candidates will receive IRATA Rope Access Level 1 certification on successful completion of the course and assessment. Candidates then receive their logbook for workplace experience under supervision with a minimum of 1,000 hours logged before progression to Level 2. Certification is valid for three years. Candidates can either undertake the Level 2 course if they have completed the logbook or resit the Level 1 course to remain certified.

Course Contents

By the end of this rope access training programme delegates will be able to: • Inspect and use their own equipment • Ensure their own safety while working at height • Assist in operations under the guidance of a supervisor • Undertake a simple rescue.
