The aim and objectives of the HLO Further Training Programme is to refresh elements of HLO
training that cannot be completed in the workplace and updating HLOs on key changes to helicopter operations, systems, relevant legislation and regulation over the previous 2 years (approx.)
This training is designed for currently-appointed OPITO-certified Offshore Helicopter Landing Officers (HLOs) that require their OPITO certification to be revalidated by refreshing and updating their knowledge and skills in aspects of their role that they cannot practice in the
workplace.
A valid OPITO HLO Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader (HERTL) Certificate
OR
A valid OPITO HLO Further Training Certificate.
Delegates must also hold a valid, current offshore medical certificate or possess an operator approved medical certificate.
Delegates will receive an OPITO Approved HLO Further Training certificate once they have been successfully assessed against the learning outcomes within the OPITO Standard.
HLO Further Training Certificate expiry is two years.
Successful completion of the HLO Further Training programme will revalidate OPITO HLO certification.
Delegates should report to reception for 08.00hrs, course starts at 08.15hrs, unless otherwise stated.
The HLO Initial Training Programme will consist of both Theoretical and Practical Training.
