Objective

The aim of this course is to ensure safety awareness when using cranes and hoists in service operations. After successfully completing this Crane & Hoist Basic User course, the participant(s) will be able to take responsibility as a basic user to safely operate common types of fixed cranes and hoists in WTG environment on basic lifts while following manufactures’ manuals and relevant documentation and legislation.

Target Group

The Crane & Hoist Basic User with VR Simulation course is designed for personnel working in the wind industry conducting pre-planned basic lifting operations onshore and offshore using common types of cranes and hoists and following established procedures.

Examination

Ongoing assessment and verification is performed throughout the course. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive their Crane & Hoist Basic User with VR Simulation certificate, valid for two years.

Course Contents

The course participant is assessed through a combination of methods including a theory test and practical test on a VR simulator. The VR simulator projects a realistic environment and participants are observed during lifting operations as well as how they respond to emergency situations.
