Objective

This U.S. Coast Guard approved course is designed to meet the specific regulatory requirement for obtaining the Offshore Installation Manager, Barge Supervisor and Ballast Control Operator merchant mariner credential.

Target Group

For the training of OIM, Barge Supervisor, Ballast Control Operator (OIM / BS / BCO)

This online course satisfies the stability training requirements of 46 CFR 11.470 (d)(2)(i) OIM surface units on location, 46 CFR 11.470 (f)(2)(I) OIM Surface Units Underway, 46 CFR 11.470 (j)(2)(i) as OIM Bottom Bearing Units Underway, 46 CFR 11.474 (a)(2)(i) Ballast Control Operator, 46 CFR 11.472 (a)(2)(i) Barge Supervisor.

Examination

Upon completion of online course, exam will be administered. Delegates who pass the exam will receive USCG Accredited certificate – Comprehensive Stability & Ballast Control (MATRON-128).

Course Contents

stability theory, stability calculations, ballast control system including pumps, valves, and ship structure concerns, mooring systems, damage control management and how to conduct a damage control drill.
