Limited Offshore Safety Introduction and Emergency Response Training (NOGEPA 0.4)
Objective
Some people working in or for the oil & gas industry occasionally travel from and to offshore mining installations solely for purpose of a visit. To make sure these people can travel safe by helicopter and know how to behave on board of the installation they participate in this one day course. The training consist of several theoretical and practical modules: safety introduction, helicopter safety, survival at sea and helicopter safety and escape training (HUET).
To train delegates in acquiring a sufficient level of understanding of circumstances and hazards on an offshore mining installation and sufficient basic knowledge of emergency response and self-rescue actions, while travelling to and from the installation by helicopter.
Target Group
This course is intended for occasional visitors travelling to and from an offshore mining installation solely for the purpose of a visit.
The visit is only allowed under the following conditions:
- The visitor will not participate in any operational activity on board of the installation.
- During the visit the visitor shall be under guidance of a qualified an instructed crewmember.
Note: this course cannot be used as a replacement for delegates (regular) visiting offshore mining installations even if they are not participating physically in any operating activity.
Prerequisites
No training pre-requisites are required.
Persons enrolling on this course must be able to show a valid medical certificate prior to participating in practical exercises.
Examination
The assessment will be conducted visually by a qualified instructor.
