Objective

"City and Guild’s Level 2 Award in Working in Medium Risk Confined Spaces Course equips delegates with the skills and knowledge to work safely in medium risk confined spaces. Learners will gain an understanding of the procedures and equipment required to perform their daily tasks safely. The confined space course (6160-02) will instil an awareness of the relevant industry standards for workers operating in medium risk confined spaces.

Target Group

The Confined Space Medium Risk Course is ideal for individuals who work in medium risk confined spaces. A medium risk confined space can be defined as a space where there are issues with access, this can include obstructions and challenges entering and exiting the space safely.

Prerequisites

"You must provide valid photographic ID such as a Passport or Driving Licence.
Must also have an appropriate level of fluency in English. Course material is also provided."

Examination

Level 2 Award in Working in Medium Risk Confined Spaces Course is assessed in a practical environment, using a confined space unit delegates will be evaluated on their ability to work safely in medium risk confined spaces, and respond appropriately to emergencies and challenges in confined spaces.

Course Contents

"Delegates will be exposed to real-world scenarios through practical learning methods. Learners will gain an understanding of the safety procedures required for entering and exiting medium risk confined spaces and gain an awareness of how to prepare and use the appropriate respiratory protective equipment (RPE).
• Candidates will learn how to:
• Prepare to enter and work safely in medium risk confined spaces.
• Enter and exit confined spaces safely.
• Use equipment and tools safely and in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
• Follow procedures and work safely.
• Deal with emergencies.
• Use appropriate behaviour for working in low risk confined spaces."
