BOSIET with CA-EBS (NOGEPA 0.5A /OPITO 5750)

Objective

The OPITO-approved BOSIET is designated for people travelling to and
working on an offshore installation. The training is worldwide accepted
and offers a wide range of relevant knowledge and competences.
During the BOSIET programme delegates will gain a basic level of
understanding and an awareness of safety and emergency response on
offshore installations.
Also included in this course is in accordance to Norwegian O&G
requirements the escape chute (skyscape techniques)and in occordance to
NOGEPA requirements the S-Cape (personal descending device).

To ensure that delegates gain the required knowledge and understanding
of the particular hazards and properties of a CA-EBS and appropriate
practical emergency response actions to take should the requirement for
emergency deployment arise.

Target Group

This programme with an OPITO+NOGEPA approval and Norwegian
Oil&Gas acceptance is designed to assist in meeting the initial onshore
safety and emergency response training and assessment requirements for
personnel new to the onshore oil and gas industry.
Compressed Air Breathing System (CA-EBS) whilst travelling to work by
helicopter and may be required to use a CA-EBS in the event of an
emergency.

Prerequisites

For attending the training the delegate should be:
- Possess of a valid ID (passport or drivers licence)
- Possess a valid, current offshore medical certificate or
(b) Possess an employing company approved medical certificate
equivalent to an offshore medical certificate, or
(c) On arrival at the training scenter you will be asked to complete a medical self-declaration form.
- The delegate should have done a longfunctiontest or
Spirometry test. The medical certificate should be send to our
customer service prior the date of the training. In case you do not have a spirometry test, this could be done on our training center before the training.
- Training activities contained within this course may include
physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All
personnel who participate in such activities must be capable of
participating fully.

Examination

Delegates will be judged against the learning outcomes specified in
OPITO/NOGEPA approved Standard BOSIET including CA EBS.
On successful completion of the course the delegates will receive the
OPITO, NOGEPA and OLF certificate.

Safety Induction
Outcome 1: Typical offshore oil and gas activities
Outcome 2: The main offshore hazards
Outcome 3: The potential environmental impact of offshore installation
operations
Outcome 4: The principles of managing safety on offshore installations
Outcome 5: Hazard effects and consequences; their associated risks, and
how they are controlled
Outcome 6: Key offshore installation safety regulations and the basic
concept of these regulations
Outcome 7: Key information and policies to ensure the health, safety and
wellbeing of those living and working offshore.

Note: CA EBS Training is an in water training in accordance to the mutual
recognition agreement between Oil&Gas UK (OPITO) and NOGEPA.
