This course is designed to provide Petroleum Industry workers with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and respond to Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) emergencies. This course was developed and is administered in accordance with the Energy Safety Canada standard; and the instructors are certified according to Energy Safety Canada requirements.
Areas of study will include: H2S properties; initial response strategy; respiratory protective equipment; detection of H2S; rescue techniques; and rescue breathing. Practical training will be conducted in the following subject areas: Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA); Supplied Air Breathing Apparatus (on request); Gas Detection; Rescue Techniques; and Rescue Breathing.
