Objective

The objectives of the FOET (with CA-EBS) are that learners will be able to:

(a) Demonstrate, in a simulated environment, that they can use the safety equipment and follow procedures in preparing for and during helicopter emergencies – with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching.
(b) Demonstrate that they can use basic firefighting equipment effectively, and use self-rescue techniques in low visibility and completely obscured visibility situations e.g. smoke-filled areas.

(c) Demonstrate that they can perform basic first aid.

Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS).

This course is designed to meet the further offshore safety and emergency response training and assessment requirements for employees working in the offshore oil & gas industry.

It consists of further training and assessment in helicopter safety and escape, fire fighting and self rescue and emergency first aid.

Prerequisites

Valid BOSIET / FOET certificate. (Verified through Vantage)

Medical Screening form to be made on arrival at the training center (Verified by instructor in the classroom)

Personal ID (Verified by instructor in the classroom)

Examination

Ongoing asessment during the course.

Course Contents

Safe behavior:
- Offshore risks, control and consequences.
- Environmental impact and disposal of waste.
- How the offshore safety is regulated and controlled.
- Procedures for prescription of Medicine and medic tasks.
- Alcohol and abuse policy.
- Requirements for protective equipment (PPE)
- Reporting Procedures (near miss, incident, accident).

Helicopter Safety and evacuation:
- Safety on board boarding on aircraft and arrival offshore.
- Emergency by helicopter flight.
- Use of Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS).
- Practical training with CA-EBS.
- Practical training of emergency landing on water as well as evacuation from the helicopter.

South Dredging, Evacuation and First Aid:
- Emergency offshore alarm and practical sea survival.
- Practical exercises in emergency situations
- Practical use of helicopter harness.
- Lifesaving First Aid incl. AED

Firefighting and Evacuation:
- Causes of fire.
- Fire extinguishing systems and detectors.
- The use of handheld fire extinguishers.
- Own rescue from completely or partially smoking rooms using escape mask.
