OSM Controlling Emergencies Assessment
Objective
The aim of the OSM Controlling Emergencies assessment programme is to assess delegate’s performance as the OSM using direct observation as a method of assessment. A major factor in the judgement will be the performance of the OSM in controlling emergencies under simulated conditions according to the Industry Standard ‘Controlling Emergencies’.
Target Group
This course is designed for personnel who are about to be appointed to an OSM position or who are already serving as an OSM.
Prerequisites
Evidence for Element 1 must be compiled by the Duty Holder from mainly naturally occurring sources (RON will provide this Guidance Note). It is recommended that this evidence is submitted two (2) week prior to assessment.
NOTE: Clients are required to submit completed RON Designing Scenarios form two (2) weeks prior to training commencement.
Examination
Delegates will be assessed against the Learning Outcomes specified in the Content Section using direct observation and oral and/or written questions as appropriate.
Should a delegate encounter challenges to meet these Learning Outcomes, RON shall provide additional coaching as an opportunity to meet those requirements
