Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain Further Training (Twinfall)
The objective of the Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain Further Training course is to give delegates the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, and to practice certain elements of their role which cannot reasonably be practised offshore.
The Basic Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain Further Training course is for all personnel designated to undertake Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain (Twinfall) duties on an installation survival craft (TEMPSC) and now requiring further safety and contingency training.
Delegates must be in possession of a valid Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (BOSIET) certificate or a Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) certificate.
A valid Basic Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain Initial Training Certificate or a Basic Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain Further Training Certificate.
The course is a mix of both practical and theoretical sessions during which delegates will be required to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the course contents.
Upon completion of the course, delegates will be awarded with an OPITO-approved Basic Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain (Twinfall) Further Training certificate
Certification is valid for 2 years. Prior to expiry delegates must undertake the Basic Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain Further Training course to remain certified.
The Basic Offshore Lifeboat Coxswain Further Training course covers a variety of topics including;
• Boarding and launching of craft
• Safe launching procedures
• Handling and moving the craft to a safe location
• Personal safety and equipment
• Rescue and recovery
