(a) Identify the generic hazards which are specific to offshore
oil and gas installations, potential risks associated with
those hazards, and how controls are put in place to
eliminate or reduce risks.
(b) Identify key offshore related safety regulations and explain
the basic safety management concepts
(c) Demonstrate, in a simulated environment, that they can use
the safety equipment, and follow procedures in preparing
for, and during helicopter emergencies – with particular
focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching
(d) Demonstrate sea survival and first aid techniques
(e) Demonstrate that they can effectively use basic firefighting
equipment, and practice self-rescue techniques in low
visibility situations, to include smoke filled areas.
Offshore personnel who are flying to and from oil and gas offshore installations and be required to wear a CA-EBS (Compressed Air-Emergency Breathing System)
This digital OPITO approved course is blended in nature. Most theory learning objectives are achieved via the online training. All practical exercises will be delivered at our facilities. The delegate must achieve all learning outcomes successfully to receive certification. Delegates will be assessed using a written exam and direct observation on all performance activities.
