Further Offshore Emergency Training with EBS
Objective
The aim of the FOET with EBS is to provide the delegates with the opportunity to practise and demonstrate emergency response skills which are not possible to practise during drills, exercises and emergency training offshore.
Target Group
This training programme is designed to meet the further offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel new (or returning) to the offshore oil and gas industry who will be supplied with a rebreather emergency breathing system (EBS) during offshore helicopter travel.
Prerequisites
The FOET (with EBS) is open to persons who have a valid (in-date) OPITO-approved BOSIET (with CA-EBS), BOSIET, TBOSIET, FOET (with CA-EBS), FOET or TFOET certificate.
ITEMS TO BRING: All delegates must bring Photographic I.D. and PASSPORT only (original or copy)
HEALTH: All delegates will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire prior to course commencement
Examination
OPITO approved certification for Further Offshore Emergency Training will be issued on successful completion of the training programme.
The validity of the OPITO certificate is four years.
Delegates should report to reception for 08.00hrs, course starts at 08.15hrs, unless otherwise stated.
Course Contents
Delegates will receive theoretical and practical knowledge in the following areas:
Helicopter Safety & Escape:
. Use of Emergency Breathing System (EBS) equipment.
. Practical emergency escape training with EBS.
. Practical emergency ditching and escape training with the use of EBS.
Fire Fighting and Self Rescue:
. Use of hand held extinguishers.
. Operation of fixed hose reels.
. Self rescue techniques in reduced visibility and completely obscured visibility.
. Use of escape hoods.
Emergency First Aid:
. Raising the alarm.
. Immediate First Aid actions including "ABC".
