Hazard Communications Awareness
Objective
Upon completion of the course, the delegate will be able to: -List the five main elements of the HAZCOM standard -Define each of the hazard categories -Discuss their role in the company HAZCOM program -Identify the NFPA & HMIS labels -Define the meaning of the numbers, letters, & colors used on the NFPA & HMIS labels -Discuss the hazard information found on MSDSs -Define PEL & TLV -Define flashpoint -Define specific gravity -Discuss who is entitled to access to MSDSs & the written hazcom program -Discuss the actions they should take prior to using a new chemical -Discuss the action they should take when bringing a new chemical to a facility -Locate the company MSDS book
Target Group
Any worker working with or around chemicals on the work site.
Examination
The delegate will be required to attain a minimum score of 70% on a written assessment.
