Helideck Emergency Response Team Member (HERTM)
Objective
The main objectives are for delegates to fully understand the role and responsibilities of a HDA Helideck Emergency Response Team Member and practice responding to a variety of helideck firefighting and non-firefighting emergency scenarios in a training environment.
Target Group
This training programme is targeted at currently-appointed or candidate Offshore Helideck Assistants (HDAs) that require OPITO-certified emergency response training in helideck and helicopter emergencies as part of their overall competence requirement.
Prerequisites
A Valid OPITO Helideck Operations Initial Training Certificate must be held or if you currently hold a HDA Initial or HLO Initial Certificate then these standards will also be accepted.
ITEMS TO BRING: All delegates must bring Photographic I.D. and PASSPORT only (original or copy)
HEALTH: All delegates will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire prior to course commencement.
Examination
Delegates will receive an OPITO Approved HDA Helideck Emergency Response Team Member Training certificate once they have been successfully assessed against the learning outcomes within the OPITO Standard.
HDA Helideck Emergency Response Team Member Training Certificate expiry is two years.
Delegates should report to reception for 08.00hrs, course starts at 08.15hrs, unless otherwise stated.
Course Contents
The HDA HERTM programme will consist of both Theoretical and Practical Training.

Helideck and helicopter emergency systems and controls
NUI emergency response requirements
HDA HERTM response in helideck and helicopter emergencies
Delegates will be assessed against the learning outcomes specified in the OPITO Standards
