The objectives of the FOET w/CA-EBS are that delegates will be able to:
(a) Demonstrate, in a simulated environment, that they can use the safety equipment and follow procedures in preparing for and during helicopter emergencies with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching.
(b) Demonstrate that they can use basic firefighting equipment effectively, and use self-rescue techniques in low visibility and completely obscured visibility situations e.g. smoke filled areas.
(c) Demonstrate that they can perform basic first aid.

Offshore
Training and/or assessment activities contained within this Standard may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully.
Delegates participating in the BOSIET, FOET, HUET with CA-EBS or the OPITO Escape Chute course must possess a valid, unexpired offshore medical certificate confirming the delegate’s fitness for offshore work or present an employing company approved medical equivalent to an offshore medical certificate (reviewed and approved by RONC's Center Manager). If a medical is not provided, an approved medical screening form will suffice.
*All delegates will be required to complete a medical screen form the first day of training.
ITEMS REQUIRED FOR TRAINING:
- When checking in for training, please have your GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO ID with you (ie: Passport or Drivers Licences, etc.)
- Shorts, T-Shirt, and Socks for pool exercises
- Towels, shower facilities on site
- Lock for locker
PLEASE NOTE: Certificates CANNOT be issued unless valid Government issued ID has been presented on Day 1 of training for all RONC courses, including OPITO approved training.

The aim of the FOET w/CA-EBS is to provide the delegates with the opportunity to practise and demonstrate emergency response skills which are not possible to practise during drills, exercises and emergency training offshore.
