Please make sure pre-requirements are met

Prerequisites: - Be more than 18 years old; - RG and CPF (brazilian); - Passport (expatriate); - Submit Occupational health certificate (ASO) or certificate of good physical and health condition; - Submit certificate of Offshore Crane Operator Level 1 or Level 2. In the absence of certification for Offshore Crane Operator Level 1, experience in the operation of offshore cranes must be proven for at least 5 years upon presentation of an Employment Contract or declaration from the contracting company.

Offshore Crane Operator Stage II

Objective

Capacitate workers to act independently and with safety in maneuvers with a crane for Level II, dispensing work supervision.

Target Group

Crane operators and assistants able to prove crane’s operation along the last 24 months and had successfully concluded the Offshore Crane Operator - Level I, willing to progress to the next stage of the program; Level II offshore crane operators willing to update their knowledge.

Examination

Students will be assessed through direct observation, during practical activities. They will also be submitted to the written test of multiple choice (containing 50 questions) and should reach at least 70% of achievement. Validity: N/A

Course Contents

Theory - 24 hours - Main Hazards of the offshore environment; Evaluation of experience. - Applicable Provisions of Regulatory Norms (NR-06, NR-10, NR-11, NR-17, NR-34) and ABNT NBR 4309. - Cranes; Basic functions and nomenclature. - Crane Types: Knuckle Boom, Trellised Crane, Ram Luffing. - Revision of Manual Signals (ANSI B30.5 / ABNT NBR 11.436). - Basic Principles of Mechanics: levers, pulleys, winches. - Preventive Maintenance: basic care and routine inspection. - Load Capacities: radius, angle, boom length and their ratios, safety loads. - Safety Devices: types and functions; correct use and how to avoid mistakes, including presentations of various Automatic Load Indicators (PAT; MIPEG). - Review of sling practices, stability, center of gravity, types of lashings and respective equipment. - Accidents Prevention. - Development Program in accordance with English and American legislation, as well as recommendations from crane manufacturers. - Ergonomics of the workstation. - Routine inspection; Start-up procedures; Use of control devices; Procedures to stop the operation. - Use of Personal Protection Equipment / Collective Protection Equipment. - Transport Basket. Practice - 16 hours - Practical exercises for the development of abilities including the control of the balance and the coordination of simultaneous movements; The perception of height and distance; Practice of basic safety rules. The complexity of the exercises (which comprise explanations, demonstrations and practices with the crane) will gradually increase. Legislation: NR-06, NR-10, NR-11, NR-17 and NR-34.
