Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air
Objective
The learning outcomes for this training are: 1. Explain the general philosophy of dangerous goods transportation; 2. Define the limitations on the transportation of dangerous goods by air; 3. Explain how dangerous goods must be correctly labelled and marked; 4. Define the different classifications of dangerous goods; 5. Explain how to recognize undeclared dangerous goods; 6. State the general principles of safe loading and storage of dangerous goods; 7. Explain the requirement for the Pilot’s Notification (NOTOC); 8. Explain the provisions for passengers and crew; 9. Explain what to do if an emergency occurs; 10. Explain how radioactive material is transported.
Target Group
To inform candidates about the procedural and legal requirements for the safe transportation of dangerous goods by air. Note: This course has been written in accordance with Part 1 Chapter 1.4 of the ICAO Technical Instructions for the safe Transport Dangerous Goods by Air and Section 1 Subsection 1.5 of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations. This course is not HCA-Helideck Certification Agency approved.
Examination
A 30-question exam will be administered. Trainees need to receive a minimum 70% score to successfully pass.
