Liberian Maritime Security Awareness

Objective

Those who successfully complete this course should achieve the required standard of competence enabling them to contribute to the enhancement of maritime security through heightened awareness and the ability to r recognize security threats and to respond appropriately. This knowledge shall include, but is not limited to, - the meaning and consequential requirements of the different security levels - knowledge of emergency procedures and contingency plans - recognition and detection of weapons, dangerous substances, and devices - techniques used to circumvent security measures

Target Group

Any applicant who has successfully completed your Maritime Security Awareness course will satisfy: the Security Awareness requirements of 46 CFR 12.627(a)(1); and the Security Awareness standards of competence required by STCW Code Section A-VI/6 paragraph 4 and Table A-VI/6-1, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVIC 21-14.

Examination

A minimum score of 70% is required to pass. 46 CFR 10.403(a)(4) requires a written examination. Course Instructors are not permitted to assist with taking written exams.
