Delegates must be at least 18 years old and have obtained a valid PSCRB Cert (from any STCW Country) or AB Cert (STCW II/4) or UK CEC or UK CoC.
The objective of the Proficiency of Fast Rescue Boats course is to give delegates the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills required to enable them to safely operate a fast rescue boat and carry out effective rescue procedures as identified in the learning objectives and stated outcomes for proficiency in section A-V1/2 of the STCW code.
The Certificate of Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats is for any seafarer who is required to take charge of a Fast Rescue Craft in an emergency situation during and after launch.
Delegates must be in possession of a valid PSCRB Certificate (from any STCW Country) or AB Certificate (STCW II/4) or UK CEC or UK CoC.
Delegates must also be at least 18 years old.
The course is a mix of both practical and theoretical sessions during which delegates will be required to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the course contents.
Upon completion of the course, delegates will be issued with an MCA-approved Certificate of Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats.
Certification is valid for 5 years. Delegates must then undertake the Certificate of Updated Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats to remain certified.
The Certificate of Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats course covers a variety of topics including;

• How to safely launch and operate an FRB
• Rescue operations and effective search techniques
• Basic maintenance and servicing
• The impact of adverse weather and sea conditions
