Prerequisites

No training prerequisites are required to sit this course.
OPITO requires that the delegate sitting this course provide photographic ID and their date of birth before starting this training.

Your identification documents are required to validate your identity.
The following documents are accepted:

Passport
Driving Licence
Form of government issued ID
What should I do to confirm my identity?

Take a "selfie" by holding your ID card
Card holder name and ID card should match and be clearly visible
Your ID must be next to your face

Examination

The assessment is taken during the course and is within the expected duration.

Course Contents

The course is available in the following languages: English; Dutch; German; Spanish
This course is accredited to the OPITO Gas Monitor standard. The course will ensure that personnel preparing to provide safety watch duties through the ongoing monitoring of hot-work sites are equipped with the relevant knowledge to safely carry out the role.
Our course has been developed in bitesize learning chunks for each topic. At the end of each module, there will be an assessment. Delegates will need to pass each module at 100 percent. When you pass the course, you will be issued with a certificate which is valid for 3 years.
The aim of this course is to teach you the requirements associated with providing safety watch duties for hot-work sites. On successful completion, you will have the basic knowledge necessary to allow you to carry out the role. You may however be asked to complete further workplace training before being formally appointed.
