Standard of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW95 with 2010 Manila Amendment) - Seafarers with Designated Security Duties

Objective

To provide those undertaking designated security duties onboard ship with the essential education and training to meet the knowledge, understanding and Proficiency requirements when alongside, at anchor and at sea.
Security duties outlined in ISPS Code and the STCW Convention Table A-VI/6-2.

Target Group

Seafarers with designated security duties in the Ship Security Plan.

Prerequisites

Delegates must be at least Seventeen (17) years and over

Examination

Delegates will be assessed against the Learning Outcomes specified in the Content Section.

Should a delegate encounter challenges to meet these Learning Outcomes, RON shall provide additional coaching as an opportunity to meet those requirements

Course Contents

Delegates who successfully complete this course will acquire the following knowledge:

• Maintain the conditions set out in a ship security plan
• Recognition of security risks and threats
• Undertake regular security inspection of the ship
• Proper usage of security equipment and systems
