Course Contents

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is an agency of the United States Department of Labour.
In this course you will learn about working within a confined space. You will identify hazards that exist within confined spaces and learn how to reduce the risk. You will be able to explain the importance of pre-job planning and safe entry procedure. You will identify safe work practices and elements of an emergency response. You will describe methods to isolate a confined space and identify forms and sources of energy. You will explain the six steps of the Lockout-Tagout process and how to purge and ventilate confined spaces. You will also describe different methods used to monitor a confined space and evaluate different types of safety equipment.
