Objective

IWCF Subsea Well Intervention module is available as an enhancement to the existing Well Intervention Pressure Control programme. The aim is to develop and enhance the participants’ understanding and skills in the area of subsea well completion and intervention operations. The content meets the IOGP recommendations for enhancements to well control training, examination and certification, as highlighted in Report #476.

Target Group

Level 4 is designed for experienced Single Intervention Discipline Subsea Supervisor/Engineer, Subsea Well Services Supervisor/Well Site Leader, and/or Subsea Completion Supervisor/Service Leader, with an existing IWCF Well Intervention Pressure Control certificate.

Prerequisites

The candidate must have a valid IWCF Level 4 Well Intervention Pressure Control certificate and be able to provide his/her 6-digit IWCF Candidate Registration (CR) Number.

Examination

Successful completion of the module and a pass mark of 70% or above in the 40-minute IWCF written assessment will result in certification.

Note: Certification for the Subsea module will be issued in line with the candidate’s current Well Intervention certificate expiry date. For example, if the Subsea module is completed six months after the candidate successfully completes the Well Intervention programme, their current certificate will be updated to include the Subsea module however the expiry date will remain the same.

Course Contents

The Subsea Well Intervention module as a standalone course is delivered over 1.5 days through presentation of a series of interactive lectures supported by videos and animations, supplemented by a classroom workbook and further self-study exercises. The training on Day 1 is followed by the IWCF assessment on Day 2.

Note: The Subsea module can also be delivered as part of the full 5-Day IWCF Well Intervention programme.
