NR-20 - Intermediate Course of Safety and Health at Working with Flammable and Combustible Liquids

Objective

Provide information on hazards, risks and procedures for emergency situations for workers who perform activities in Classes I, II and III installations and enter areas or locations of extraction, production, storing, transferring and handling of flammable material and combustible liquids, and keep direct contact with process or processing, performing inspection and maintenance activities, and Class I workers performing operating activities and emergency response.

Target Group

Workers who perform activities in Classes I, II and III installations and enter areas or locations of extraction, production, storing, transferring and handling of flammable material and combustible liquids, and keep direct contact with process or processing, performing inspection and maintenance activities.
Workers who perform activities in Class I installations and enter areas or locations of extraction, production, storing, transferring and handling of flammable material and combustible liquids, and keep direct contact with process or processing, performing operating activities and emergency response.

Prerequisites

- RG and CPF;
- Passport (expatriate);
- Occupational Health (ASO) or certificate of good physical and mental health conditions.

Examination

Multiple choice exam with minimum passing grade of 60%.

Validity: 2 years

Course Contents

Theory - 14 Hours
1. Flammable: characteristics, aspects, hazards and risks;
2. Collective and individual control for activities with flammable material;
3. Ignition sources and its control;
4. Protection against fires caused by flammable material;
5. Basic procedures in emergency situation involving flammable material.
6. Study of the NR-20;
7. Preliminary Risk Assessment: concepts and practice exercises;
8. Work Permit for activities with flammable material;

Practice - 2 Hours
1. Knowledge and use of the security systems against fires caused by flammable material.
