Calamity Control (NOGEPA 2.10A) incl. Control room
Objective
The NOGEPA 2.10 Calamity Control course trains Offshore Installation Managers (OIM's) who are (temporarily) responsible for a small crew on for example Normally Unmanned Installations (NUI's) or satellites and control room operators, to take action during major emergencies. During the training participants will be confronted with emergencies that can occur while executing daily activities on an offshore installation.
Objective:
This course is designed for handling a calamity on an offshore mining installation where due to its limited size, manning, and configuration no fully equipped and trained firefighting and rescue team is available.
Learning targets:
- to take care of a well-trained calamity organization;
- to determine the situation with regard to the calamity;
- to take effective actions;
- to maintain good communications during calamities;
- to delegate fire-fighting and rescue tasks;
- to lead exercises;
- to deal with stress.
Target Group
Offshore Installation Managers of NUI's or Satelites
Control room operators
Prerequisites
This course is intended for Offshore Installation Managers (or equivalent used job titles).
The delegate is presumed to have knowledge of offshore rescue and fire-fighting.
Examination
Delegates will be assessed on their performance during the practical exercises.
