Minimum Industry Safety Training
Objective
The objective of this course is to introduce the fundamental safety elements of the offshore oil and gas industry to new starts.
Target Group
This course is for new starts in the offshore oil and gas industry.
Examination
The course is largely theoretical with the inclusion of some practical exercises. Ongoing assessment is used to demonstrate delegates understanding of the course contents. Upon completion of the course, delegates will be awarded with an OPITO-approved MIST certificate. Certification is valid for 4 years. Experienced offshore personnel can then renew their MIST via computer-based training.
Course Contents
The MIST introduces key safety concepts of the offshore oil and gas industry to delegates through the following subjects: • Major Accident Hazards • Workplace Hazards & Personal Safety • Risk Management • Control of Work • Helicopter Safety
