The NOROG is a professional body and employer’s association for oil and supplier companies. The development of international standards in the petroleum sector will improve technology, enhance health, safety and environmental care, and lead not least to cost savings for the whole industry. The network for safety and emergency response training (NSOB) comprises personnel from the Norwegian Oil and Gas' member companies, the unions and the Norwegian Shipowners Association.
On behalf of the operators, Norwegian Oil and Gas operates an approval scheme for course providers and training centres which offer safety and emergency response training in accordance with the Norwegian Oil and Gas training curriculum
Everyone who is to stay on facilities on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) must have completed basic safety training in accordance with the Norwegian Oil and Gas training curriculum for basic safety training course (GSK). This covers all personnel performing work or assignments on fixed or mobile facilities, as well as people with supervisory duties on the NCS, including personnel from official regulators.
Everyone who takes a GSK must complete the helicopter underwater escape training (HUET).
