Helicopter Landing Officer

Objective

The HLO (Helicopter Landing Officer) is the designated person who is trained to organize and supervise the safe and efficient helicopter operations, before, during and after take-off and landings on the helideck. This course provides basic training to delegates on awareness of the hazards encountered when dealing with Helicopter Operations at onshore and offshore installations to the OPITO guidelines and in accordance to CAP 437, and how to respond effectively and appropriately to emergencies on board these installations.

Target Group

This course is designed for persons who are to be appointed the role of an Offshore Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO).

Prerequisites

Basic working knowledge of Helideck and Heli-ops required

Examination

Assessments are carried out against industry competency standards. The pass mark for this course is 80%.

If the delegate is unsuccessful, they will qualify for a remediation assessment; this allows them to attempt the assessment again. RelyOn Nutec shall provide additional coaching to further prepare delegates for this remediation assessment.
