MCIA - Helicopter Landing Officer - ALPH
Objective
Enable delegates to be designated to perform tasks and take on assignments in operation with helicopters in helidecks of platforms and vessels, in accordance with item 5.6.2.7 of Resolution A-1079(28) of the International Maritime Organization - IMO, Section A-VI/3 and Table A-VI/3 of the STCW Code, as amended, and chapter 6 of the Maritime Authority standard for approval of Helipads installed on ships and offshore platforms (NORMAM-27/DPC).
Target Group
Workers who are involved in helicopter operations on platforms and vessels, in accordance with item 5.6.2.7 of Resolution A-1079(28) of the International Maritime Organization - IMO, Section A-VI/3 and Table A-VI/3 of the STCW Code, as amended, and chapter 6 of the Maritime Authority standard for approval of Helipads installed on ships and offshore platforms (NORMAM-27/DPC).
Prerequisites
- RG and CPF;
- Passport (expatriate);
- Be more than eighteen (18) years old;
- Occupational health certificate (ASO) or certificate of good physical and health condition;
- Present proof of education (Have completed elementary school for BOMBAV and high school for ALPH (HLO)).
- Have a basic or advanced fire-fighting course within the last five (5) years.
Examination
Multiple choice exam with minimum passing grade of 60%.
Validity: 2 years
Course Contents
1. NORMAM-27 - 8 hours
2. Security Management and Philosophy of SIPAER - 4 hours
3. Basic Knowledge of Aerodynamics - 2 hours
4. Fire Fighting in the Helideck - 2 hours
5. First Aid of Urgency in the Helideck - 2 hours
6. HLO Activities - 6 hours
7. Familiarization of Helicopters Used in Offshore Operation - 2 hours
8. Notions of Communications - 2 hours
9. Notions of Meteorology – 2 hours
10. Practice of Fire Fighting and First Aid - 5 hours
Reserve time – 3 hours.
Exam time – 2 hours.
