STCW Medical First Aid

Objective

To give seafarers who are designated to provide medical first aid on board ship the essential education and training to meet the Knowledge, Understanding and Proficiency requirements set out in A-V1/4-1 of the STCW code

Target Group

All Ships’ officers are required to complete proficiency in medical first aid training

Prerequisites

Not Applicable

Examination

Candidates to undergo individual assessments against the criteria set in Annex B columns 3 & 4 from Table A-VI/4-1 via observation and oral questioning at the end of the course.

Successful candidates will be awarded a MCA approved STCW Medical First Aid certificate

This course can be delivered at both our Aberdeen and Teesside training centres
