Objective

Upon completion of the course, the delegate will be able to
- apply proper leadership and management skills to contribute to a safer and more effective
operation and control of the ship's machinery
- demonstrate use of and proper interaction with instrumentation and controls extensively used
in ships' engine rooms
- explain the need for proper pre-planning, use of checklists, and timescales in start-up
procedures
- recognize the way in which machinery units are interdependent
- identify operational problems and corrects them
- apply decision making skills and techniques that promote safety and efficiency

Target Group

Engineering officers at both the management and operational levels

Prerequisites

None

Examination

The written exam consists of 20 multiple choice questions on which a minimum score of 90% must be attained.
