Helideck Team Member Training
Objective
The course consists of theoretical input and practical
exercises developed to measure competence relating
to the key learning outcomes of International
standards for Emergency Helideck Team Member initial
training.
Theory input 25%
Practical exercises 75%
Delegates will be assessed against the defined training
outcomes of the current International standards.
Target Group
This course is designed to meet the initial live practice onshore training and assessment requirements for Offshore Emergency Helideck Team Members as identified in the UKOOA Guidelines for Competence and Training in Emergency Response, to enable them to join offshore Emergency Response Teams for installation-specific duties, training and development.
Prerequisites
Possession of valid Helideck Assistant Certificate.
Examination
On completion of this course, a written assessment will be taken.
Course Contents
The course consists of practical and theoretical
training and knowledge of:
• Offshore fire/emergency response
arrangements
• The role of the Emergency Helideck Team
Member Helicopter operational hazards
• Helideck helicopter emergency systems &
controls
• Measures to minimize damage
• Arrangements to restore helideck emergency
equipment to operational status
• Use of best working practices and procedures
• Selection and use of equipment
• Extinguishing a fire and/or securing an area
• Locating missing personnel
• Handling and removing casualties
