Basic Helicopter Fire Fighting (NOGEPA 2.9A)
Objective
This course is intended for everyone who is designated to act as HLO or HDA at a mining installation and is required to act during a helicopter incident as stated in their scope of responsibilities. The objective of this training is to gain knowledge by practical training in helicopter firefighting and rescue actions.
Learning targets:
Performing fire-fighting and rescue actions in relation to helicopters.
Target Group
Intended for: Persons designated to act as Helicopter Landing Officer or Helicopter Deck Assistant at a mining installation and is not in the possession of a valid registration in the Personal Safety Logbook (Member Fire-fighting and Rescue team Offshore - 2.6).
Prerequisites
A valid medical certificate + BA.
Examination
Competence assessment.
Validity: 2 years.
Course Contents
Practice:
- Fighting helicopter fires with monitors, fire hoses and portable extinguishers;
- Rescuing crew and passengers from a burning helicopter.
