Objective

To give the participants sufficient basic knowledge and skills, required to operate as lifeboat captain.

Target Group

Personel with lifeboat captain duties on offshore installations in the Danish sector.

Prerequisites

None.

Examination

None, but all course must be completed whit satisfaction for handing out certificate.

Course Contents

Use the launching system and equipment of the lifeboat.
Lead the preparation and launching of the lifeboat.
Perform pacing and pickup manoeuvres.
Lead the preparation and launch of a davit-launched life raft.
Lifeboat constructions, contents and operations.
Launching system, VHF- radios and compass.
Recovery of casualties from the sea.
Launch and recovery.
Pacing techniques in regards of transfer to other vessels.
Transfer of casualties to helicopters.
Handling and operation of davit-launched life raft.
THE COURSE IS CONDUCTED AS A COMBINATION COURSE WITH OTHER BOAT COURSES
