The Enhanced Learning Credits scheme promotes lifelong learning amongst members of the armed forces and offers financial support for service personnel to train towards a nationally recognised qualification.
Our new 15 day course, Safe Working Practice in the Wind Turbine Industry, prepares service leavers for a new profession in the wind sector and supports them to build upon the skills obtained during their time in the armed forces.
The package has been developed to ITC level 3 standard and incorporates the following Global Wind Organisation (GWO) accredited courses; GWO Basic Safety Training, GWO Basic Technical Training, GWO Advanced Rescue Training and GWO Enhanced First Aid.
RelyOn Nutec Head of Marketing & Customer Experience, Jenny Davidson said, “this combination of courses will upskill participants for an industry that is not only growing at a rapid pace but also recognises that the demand for a skilled and adaptable workforce is likely to outstrip supply in the coming years.
“Service leavers have long been in demand in the offshore energy industry, not least because of their ability to work in challenging environments and because of the military mindset which gives them confidence, discipline and a drive to succeed. Ex members of the armed forces are already playing a key role in energy transition”.
This isn’t the first time that RelyOn Nutec has supported a project which strives to reskill the workforce for a future in energy. The Energy Transition Zone (ETZ) recertification programme was delivered in early 2022 and earned RelyOn Nutec commendation at the Global Offshore Wind Awards in recognition for supporting individuals who had been distanced from the energy sector to retrain for a career in offshore wind.
The ITC Level 3 Safe Working Practice in the Wind Turbine Industry has now been scheduled within the RelyOn Nutec course calendar, with delivery to commence for the initial course on the 31st of January 2023. Subsequent courses are scheduled throughout the year.
